We head out via Wainui Reserve and by Whale Bay continuing on to Te Toto Gorge – a dramatic, natural amphitheatre that was once the site of extensive Maori rock gardens.
Take in the spectacular views of the gorge, along with breathtaking coastal views. If you're lucky, on a clear day, you can see the mount Taranaki.
Trek down Te Toto Gorge
Te Toto Gorge offers a wild, windswept walking experience.
We take you to the top of this dramatic natural amphitheatre and show you the path that heads down to the sea (2 hour return walk).

Remember that weather conditions can change rapidly, especially at higher altitudes. Always carry a change of clothing, wet weather gear and sufficient water and food when out trekking.
